Parents' Guide to Towniz
Towniz comes from My Town Games, the award-winning studio with more than 1 billion downloads, making pretend-play games for kids since 2014. Towniz is built to be a safe place for kids to play: no ads, no free-text chat, no tracking, and no personal information collected from children. This page explains what your child can and can't do in Towniz, how playing with friends and sharing work, how purchases work, and how you stay in control.
The short answers
Does my child need an account to play?
No. Towniz can be played without an account, as a guest. An account is optional: it saves and backs up progress so it is not lost, for example when moving to a new device, and it is needed to share houses.
Does Towniz have ads?
No. No banners, no video ads, and no advertising networks or behavioral tracking.
Can my child chat with other players?
Not with free text. In multiplayer, players communicate only with emotes and ready-made phrases, so children can't type messages or share personal details.
Who can my child play with?
Friends they invite to their house or world. Your child can also join public parties hosted by other players, where communication is limited to the same emotes and preset phrases. Kids can block any player, and party hosts can remove players from their party.
Can my child see content other kids made?
Yes, houses other players designed. They are built only from in-game items, with no photos, text or uploads, and they are moderated. The only interaction is a "like".
Is Towniz free?
Free to download, and every location is free to play. Optional purchases and subscriptions exist.
What age is Towniz for?
All ages. The App Store rates it 4+.
Playing with friends
Towniz lets kids play together in real time:
- Invite friends to your house or your world. Free for everyone.
- Parties: Builder Club members can host a private party for approved friends, or a public party that other players can join.
- No free-text chat. Players communicate only with emotes and ready-made phrases. No typed messages, no voice, no photos, no personal details.
- Block anyone. Kids can block any player so that player can't reach them again.
- Hosts stay in charge. The Builder Club member hosting a party can remove any player from it.
Multiplayer is rolling out now and is currently in beta.
Purchases and subscriptions
- Towniz is free to download, and the whole town is free to play.
- Playing with invited friends is free. Hosting parties requires Builder Club.
- Optional extras are sold as in-app purchases, plus two monthly subscriptions: Creators Club and Builder Club. Some include a 7-day free trial that turns into a monthly subscription unless it's cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends.
- All payments go through Apple, Google or Amazon. We never see card or billing details.
- Tip: turn on purchase approval on your child's device: Ask to Buy on iPhone and iPad, or purchase approvals in Google Play.
Privacy
- No ads, no tracking, no selling data.
- We collect only limited technical data (device type, app version, crash logs, country) and gameplay statistics to keep the game running and improve it. None of it is used for advertising.

- Inactive accounts are deleted or anonymized after 2 years.
