About Towniz

Towniz World: Avatar Life is a free, ad-free sandbox game for kids on iPhone, iPad and Android, made by My Town Games, the award-winning studio with more than 1 billion downloads and one of the pioneers of digital pretend-play games since 2014. Kids create avatars, design and decorate their own houses, explore an open town, play inside houses other players built, and invite friends over to play together. Every location in the town is free to play.

What kids do in Towniz

  • Create characters. Hairstyles, outfits, accessories and expressions for every avatar.
  • Design houses. Build and decorate a home from scratch, room by room.
  • Explore the town. Houses, parks and shops are open from the start. Nothing on the map is locked behind a payment.
  • Play in other kids' houses. Players have shared thousands of houses. Place one on your map and step inside.
  • Play with friends. Invite friends into your house or your world and play together, for free.
  • Host parties. Builder Club members can throw parties in the world they built: private parties for approved friends, or public parties anyone can join.
  • Tell their own stories. No missions to win, no timers, no score. Open-ended pretend play.

Play together

Towniz is multiplayer. Kids can invite friends to their house or their world and play together in real time. Players talk using emotes and ready-made phrases: there is no free-text chat.

  • Private play with invited friends is free for everyone.
  • Parties (private parties for approved friends, or public parties open to other players) are hosted by Builder Club members.

Multiplayer is rolling out now and is currently in beta.

Built on more than ten years of My Town

Towniz didn't come out of nowhere. It is the next step for My Town Games, an award-winning studio with more than 1 billion downloads that has been making digital pretend-play games for kids since 2014.

  • A pioneer of the genre. My Town: Home, released in 2015, was one of the first games to turn the dollhouse into an open-ended digital world, where kids make up their own stories with no levels to beat and no way to lose.
  • About 100 games. The My Town, My City, My Little Princess and Wonderland series cover schools, hospitals, airports, police stations, homes, cities and more.
  • More than 1 billion downloads by families around the world.
  • Award-winning. My Town games have won awards across the industry over the years.
  • Founded by parents. Daniel Sonnenfeld and Mark Tulchinski started My Town Games after watching their daughters play for hours with their dollhouses, and asked how to bring that kind of imaginative play to children everywhere.

Towniz took several years to build, and everything My Town Games learned from those 100 games went into it: how kids play, what keeps them creating, and how to keep a kids' game safe. It brings together everything the My Town series is known for in one connected world, with more than ever before: avatars, house building, houses shared by other players, and playing together with friends.

Towniz launched on December 12, 2025. It is the biggest game My Town Games has ever built, and it keeps growing with regular updates, new houses and new features.
